If I have learned anything in my lifetime, it has been that indoctrination and imagination combined can turn the most loving kind person into a vicious racist man, woman, boy, or girl. Lately, I’ve been paying attention to individuals and how they interact or do not interact with people of different races. I mean really paying attention to the details of the encounter. Whether I am at the store, at work, leaving the bank, or simply taking a walk in the park, everyone has become a target of interest.
I’ve been hearing so much about White Rage in the past few years, it makes me wonder why, after having come so far in race relations, why does it seem that we are rolling back the hands of time? Why are White folk of whom have assisted in the fight to obtain freedom from slavery for Black folk, now turning away from those same folk or are they really? I mean on some level, there are those that hate Black folk and there are Black folk that hate White folk, and there always will be that dynamic happening in today’s world.
However, before we all lose our minds, we need to wake the hell up! We need to question the stories we hear daily, are the stories true? What is the reality on the streets in your world, up close and in person? How many times have you been robbed by a Black person? How many times have you been shot at by a Black person? How many times have you walked past a Black person and they looked at you with disgust and called you a derogatory name? I really want to hear your answer to these questions, share it in the comment area below. Does your reality show the same situations and criminal behavior as what the media is reporting or do you simply accept the stories in the media as truth without question and change your behavior accordingly?
Many of us have always known that the media pits one group against the other simply to garner higher ratings than the next news station or paper. Therefore, it sensationalizes most of their stories by any means necessary. Simply, to have content that ensures America stays divided for the media establishment’s financial success.
It is somewhat different today than it was years ago. Because of social media and other online sites, there has been an increase in the need to be the first to report a story or the first to grab the best headline, even if the headline does not match the story. So the media we knew way back in the day, is not the media we see today, and it shows. More recently, I’ve noticed some of the changes below:
- An uptick in the showing of Black folk has steadily become front and center as the face of crime on your local news channel, no matter how petty the crime, online and off. Crimes committed by White folk have been mostly buried beneath that scary Black folk news.
- There’s always an attempt to promote hate upon hate towards all Black people to ensure separation between Blacks & Whites.
- Black folk have been and continue to be lied about and lied to, spoken to in a negative manner, harassed, and basically held out to be the problem for all that ails America and the world, until this very day.
- In the media, White folk have been portrayed as being rich, no matter how poor one might be. What an excellent way to pit groups against each other by promoting the notion that one group is better than the other…
The attempt to make others believe that Whites are thriving at all levels is an attempt to ensure that poor White folks do not garner the attention they need to improve their lives; therefore politicians and White supremacists can utilize the tensions created by the lies and media distortions to drive the separation between races. It also prohibits poor White people from realizing that they are at or below the level of their Black counterparts and should stand as one together with their Black counterparts against the media and anyone attempting to divide us.
Although it has taken a long time to realize it, at least across the board for all people, we now know that the media has somewhat become the enemy of the people (Non-White people, especially). Trump is able to take advantage of the emotional turmoil of White people who felt or feel they are and have been left out or pushed aside by society. I am certainly happy, he has brought that to the surface, and now we can deal with it and bring forth a resolution. However, his reason for exposing this issue was simply to take advantage of those feelings for political reasons, not for the greater good of the general public.
Let’s set aside the manipulative aspect of his many comments and or projections and what appeared to be pure lies and look at the second-best discovery Trump made, the “FAKE NEWS,” statements he has promoted around the nation. He has caused many to focus their attention on the media and this has been a beautiful thing. As my mom use to say all the time. Every liar tells the truth sometimes, you have to determine which time that is. Because of Trump, we have seen Tucker Carlson leave Fox News! Why? Because people started paying attention to most news media. I’m sure this was an unintended result but an awesome one!
Hopefully, this means that times are changing and moving in the right direction, even if unintended. Maybe we will see a change in their focus on sensationalism and see more even-handed reporting. Who knows, maybe Black folk and White folk alike will stand against this foolishness and take back our lives! If you have come to realize what is actually going on as well, then I have a few questions that I’d like to ask.
How can you believe the media when they report derogatory statements against Black people without proof but not believe it when they make a statement about Trump’s criminal activity? How can you believe that every Black man they accuse of criminal activity is guilty simply because they said so? How can you believe any media that is biased against any particular group of people in the world?
So my question is… Is it really White Rage or Media manipulation prompting rage in White people to bring life to their projections? And therefore, solidifying their headlines?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this, please be clear and respectful. Thanks!
